The church began in the Pines Nursing Home in October of 1974 as First United Pentecostal Church under the pastorate of Rev. John E. Poore, and then to his home in Easton on Aurora St. Services were also held in the home of a family that was attending at the time. Space was eventually rented and in 1978 the church purchased the Jehovah's Witness property where the current worship facility is located. In 1980, the new sanctuary was built along with an entire second floor which is currently used for 2 offices and storage space.
In 1991, the founding Pastor resigned and the process for finding a new Pastor began. The church would then be led by two more Pastors between 1991 and 2009, Rev. George Vandevender, and Rev. Richard VanSant (under whom the current name Fountain of Life was adopted).
On Sunday, November 14, 2010, Rev. J. Eric Scott, Sr. was elected as the fourth Pastor of Fountain of Life Church. On October 14, 2021, he, along with several families from Fountain of Life, began having Bible Study with members of Liberty Lighthouse in Chestertown, MD. On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, Pastor Scott was elected as the new Pastor of Liberty Lighthouse, currently operating as Fountain of Life Church, Queen Anne’s County.
